Re: Now I'm also an owner!

Very, very cool. Great looking plane! Definitely unique. A family friend/hangar buddy has a 160hp Pacer (tripacer converted several years back) with climb prop--exellent airplane with great performance.

Have fun with it!

Looks like a beauty; can't wait to see more pictures! Any idea why the builder choose spring gear over cub style? Increased cruise??

I was wandering around at PASX and look who I happened upon:

Looks like Cameron picked up a dandy. I know this airplane as it is, or was my mechanics and he did an excellent job on the build. The attention to detail is awesome. Have a great flight south Cameron.

Great to meet you, Greg!

We were cruising at 120 mph today at 2250 rpm on a 74-60 metal prop. Seems pretty slick :)

Dang, with a plane that good looking, how can you ever leave the cockpit or the hangar? It probably draws a crowd wherever you go, so stay sharp on your technique. You will be watched!

As a 2 time short wing piper owner (PA16 and PA22-20) I have to say that is a real dream of a plane. Very nice. Enjoy! be safe.

Re: Now I'm also an owner!

I'm surprised that more aircraft (other than Cessna) aren't designed with the spring gear, or (other than some Kitfox & Avid's changed over to Grove one-piece gear) converted to it. It is simple, and pretty much maintenance free. Damn near indestructible too- just check out the photo someone recently posted of a hard landing where the gear is bowed out to where the wheels are cambered about 45 degrees.

Re: Now I'm also an owner!

Congrats, I know Roger and the plane, its a beauty!

AKGreg, is your 170 still on the ramp over by my Avid? I have not flown too much this year so I have not seen much action at the airport.

Re: Now I'm also an owner!

I'm squatting in one of the hangars I built at the east end of the airport. At least until it sells. I'm starting to feel entitled.....

Got to visit one more time with Cameron before he took off for Anchorage to pick up his Dad. Roger Rupp showed up (he built the plane) and we chatted briefly before Cameron took off. He gave us a low level take off and a wing wag goodbye. Roger was a little bit sad to see his plane leave, but was happy that such a great guy bought it. Said he felt like Cameron was a son, in the short time they were together.

That is some good shit!

I love this flying thing and all the great people I have met so far and I am equally excited about meeting and flying with more of you in the near future :D

Roger and his wife are excellent people. And great Christians. I'm truly honored that Roger said that about me.

Thanks for all the compliments!

I looked out the window of the room I'm staying in at 0115 this morning and had to get a picture of my plane :)

Pardon the screen!
