Oregon airports with MoGas within 1.5mi

I made this list a while ago based off pure-gas.org, but these are all airports that have MoGas within a mile and a half. So you could walk with some gas bags, and places like Paisley if there are cars on 31 Im sure you could hitch hike. Anyways I just figured some other people might find this useful.

Grants Pass (3S8) acquired a fuel truck from Medford Air Service late last year. Our local EAA chapter has spent the last 2 months refurbishing the truck and it will be online within the next week or so. This fuel truck will have 91 Clear Premium Mogas (CPM).

Ontario Oregon.

The airport also used to have those nasty little sticker thorn things, they play hell on the bike tires, not a problem with the plane tires though. I really like this thread's concept, as opposed to "airports that have mo gas on the field", (few and far between).

Re: Oregon airports with MoGas within 1.5mi

Did a drive by at the local airport today…. had to pay hangar rent….
$4.99 for 100LL.
Just wonder how much folks pay to go get AutoGas that makes paying the Airport Operators that little bit more to provide services, balance out??
I'm thinking if it's that close a margin, find a different recreation!
I understand "Shoestring" but if you can't afford it, do something about it! It's no wonder FBO's at the small airports are going out of business.

It would be nice to have a similar thread for each state, or some other better system that you could go to tosee what was available along a route you were planning. I landed behind the Chevron station at Green River the other day, taxied up to the pump, got gas and some soft serve. I'd call that a good stop in the middle of the desert, and no other nearby options.

I imagine you probably fly something that you can not put MoGas in? It all depends on what you fly. For those of us that have Rotax engines, the use of 100ll forces you to change the oil every 50 hours vs. 100 hours when running strictly on MoGas. I'm happy to support local FBO's but when I can get MoGas for $2 a gallon cheaper than 100ll I'm going to try and do that. I was paying $3.75 for MoGas in town vs. $5.77 for 100ll at my airport. I think more FBO's should consider selling MoGas, to help keep general aviation going, and keeping MoGas accessible the the general public. Lucky for me the only airport in Oregon (well I guess now Grants Pass) that sells MoGas is only a 10 min flight. If I could afford a bad ass Maule that burns 12.5 gallons of 100ll per hour at $72 per hour with my prices listed above I would! But for now I'm young and don't have a monster budget, so flying my little Savannah with a Rotax 912 burning 5 gallons of MoGas per hour at $18.75 per hour is what fits me at the moment. And I'd say I'm having a whole hell of a lot of fun while doing so :D

So you are good with using all the airport services without contributing to those services?
And 100 hours between oil changes?
I give up!

So you are good with judging other pilots because we can use MoGas and you can't?

Accusing me of of using all of the airport services with out any contribution isn't helping your cause of making friends daily.

Who says I don't contribute in other ways? And who says I use their services anyway?

I prefer to fill my plane at the Lebanon Airport (S30) vs. filling cans in town.

If I use a car I like to throw in an extra $20 in gas.

I don't need sectionals, but still buy them from FBOs.

If there is a coffee fund, I'm happy to throw a $5 in the pot.

And with all that said I still have to buy 100ll more often than not.

Plus half the airports in my list don't even sell 100ll to begin with.

Sorry I'm trying to kill general aviation with my use of MoGas.

Just sayin...

(edit: holy shit, I just looked up the fuel burn for a 185 no wonder your bitter!)

Re: Oregon airports with MoGas within 1.5mi

In the last 3000 hrs in 3 different homebuilts, I've burned maybe 30 gallons of av gas. If it didn't have the damn lead in it I wouldn't have a problem with the price. I've busted my ass carrying 5 gallons at a time with the fold up bike for years, and I mooch a loaner car when available and make sure the fuel tank is topped off when returned. Most loaner/airport beaters are not directly financed by the local FBO anyway, correct me if I'm wrong. The whole issue is moot when at some dirt strip with no fuel available of any kind, but a gas station down the road, and those are the places I try and re fuel at when on a xc.

February's bill was $3.83 per gallon including taxes.

$5.71 per gal for 100LL at MMV per foreflight

$1.88 savings per gal

13gph x 1500hrs = 19,500gal
19,500gal x $1.88 = $36,600.00

50gal fill up = $94.00

19hrs paid for my tank and pump in my pickup

Enough savings to buy you a beer at JC this year. 8)

Glad to see a young person flying, excellent research, do what you gotta do to keep it working.

I'm an ex-young person, so in my Rotax, I use mogas at home, 100LL if I take a trip. (and I don't mind paying a little extra for the 100LL if somebody your age comes out to pump it for me) :D

Airports (or any business except government) that doesn't understand or accomdate what their customers want are doomed to fail. We all vote with our dolllars, and the ones that come around and realize that E0 autofuel has a growing demand and is what many people want will get those dollars. All the concerns about one fuel tank/infrastructure are secondary because people will do what they feel is best for them.

Agreed, there is no way that I need the same fuel as a Navajo or a C421 that was designed 40 years ago. My 0360 came from the Lycoming factory OK'd for MoGas. The FAA has approved an STC for the airframe.

Anybody who tries to intimidate somebody at a FBO because they are not using their crap should consider finding another place to hangout. People who listen to what people need succeed, that's the bottomline. If FBOs are losing money maybe they are run by losers? I go to a FBO to get what I need not to subsidize bottom feeders.

Ted, news flash: your engine was designed 60 years ago ;) The only thing that is new is the manufacturer's willingness to certify their low compression models for low octane fuel.

Wow! Are you right behind the Harper Store? We used to stop there all the time when I worked on a fire engine.

Err looking at GoogleEarth, do you sell it personally? I assume Coleman Road is yours?
