Rob

Lets get together while you are down here, I keep the plane at Hemet when I am down here and not in Wash, and We have a friend that has a block cabin out near giant rock with an 800' dirt strip. We also fly out to all the places you mentioned and a few more.

Re: OregonMaule Destinations: January 2013 socal and Arizona

Sweet!! I'll be driving to SoCal Dec 31-Jan1 or 2. But anyway, I'll be in SoCal Jan thru first part of March. I'll be bringing my trailer, too. I plan to do some offroading on some of the weekends and can even dig out some toys from the warehouse :D

I might be working some of the Anaheim Supercross's. I have some friends in low places and might be able to get some passes for some of you BCPers.

Your more than welcome to come to the shop on day for lunch, too. Check out the rigs and race shop. 8)

Let's keep in touch.

I'd highly recommend taking Pat up on his offer. He got some passes for my son and I for a Supercross in Las Vegas. We had a blast. It was also great to hang with Pat at the Yamaha trailer and to check out the bikes, and cool stuff. Thanks again Pat. =D> =D> =D>

You bet!! Looking forward to next time!

Just a side note. The AMA Supebike races will be August 2-4 at Miller Motorsports park in Tooele, Utah. It's not near as exciting as Motocross or Supercross. But, I should be there. Passes are harder to get for free, though. I'm not a huge fan of this place during the summer neither. It can be hot, dry and very windy. But the facility itself is pretty awesome with lots of places to hang out under the weather.

Hey Iceman,

Guess Robb won't be here, but what time is breakfast on New Year's Day? I'm based in Bermuda Dunes for the winter and would like to meet some of you California BCP'ers if you're still flying out for breakfast on the first.

Chiriacco summit on Jan 1 has been going on for 20 years.. weather depending most get there between 9 and 10 but I try for earlier so as not to be in the gaggle that gets there all at once... winds have been the reason for most cancellations but if it's a clear day I'll go anyway unless winds are over 30...If you are a taildragger check the sock yourself as many of the tri gear guys land with a tail wind which can be fairly strong out there... one year a new taildragger pilot just fell into the pattern with everyone else and found he was landing with a 15 to 20 MPH tail wind and he promptly ground looped and had to leave his plane there....see ya there weather permitting..... :)

If you make it over to Desert Center, make sure you find the track owner, Micky. Totally cool guy!! I even bet he would let you have free range of the airstrip. It's a private strip own by him and the track and I'm sure you can have all the fun you want  I heard his into some big arsenal, too

And BTW, I did tell him about this forum and he said you guys are always more than welcome to drop in. Last I heard, he bought a 180 or 182 to learn to fly.
