The gear legs were goofy, he sent them off to someone who claimed to have a jig and could "overhaul" them-- when they came back, they wouldn't even bolt onto the airplane. He ended up buying new Univair legs which bolted on just fine, but now he has a bunch of toe-in. He's closing in on completion and wants to correct that before flying it.

How much is a bunch.??

I can't recall. I think he's posted on the SWP site about this recently, maybe he posted the numbers.
Brian, when you say "at least 3/16" toe-in", are you talking total between the two wheels or per side? Also, is that 3/16" at the leading and trailing edge of the tires, or per foot, or ?

Just for grins, I checked to see what my Brand C series 100 service manual had to ay about wheel alignment. I know it's a completely different animal, but they say set for slight toe-in which will go to neutral as gear is deflected.

I check toe-in in the same manner as the Brand C series 100 service manual.... New Bungee's, completely empty with no fuel ( wings off when setting new gear fittings ), rack the main gear up by lifting a wing until the hydrasorb's are all the way in, main tires aired to 32 PSI, tail up in flight attitude, long straight edge across the center of the front of the main tires ( I use an old wing spar ), carpenter square against the outside of the tire ( Should touch the back sidewall of the tire ) and measure the gap between the square's edge and the front sidewall of the tire.... 1/8 to 3/16 inch.

The way the gear is set up on the Pacer series when the tail is lowered the toe-in actually decreases slightly... It also decreases with weight... At gross weight it should be close to neutral.

Re: pacer toe-in

So 1/8 to 3/16 toe-in for each side, measured at the tire sidewalls. Thanks
