As far as hubcaps, I kinda like flat hubcaps but all the store-boughten ones I've ever seen are dish style. I guess if you like flat ones, you gotta make 'em yourself.
I like hubcaps painted to match the trim color on the airplane. I also kinda like black ones, but when I painted mine black everybody gave me a hard time about it. Finally succombed to peer pressure & re-painted them.
