I've never tried it but will skis go in through the baggage door in a 172 and slide under the seats? Seems like there may be room depending on ski width.

I was thinking the same, on first pass I'd say yes but haven't tried either. The older, longer skis of my days maybe not but the newer parabolic ones I'm will to put a beer or two down on a bet they would easily.

To bad you’re not in Alaska....okay...back up...is Alaska the only state where lumber racks are legal? PA12 or a Pacer with a lumber racks. Thing is a Pacer/Tripacer is a little tight for three people...unless your co-pitot is a shorty...and can move the co-pilots seat forward to gain a bit of leg room for the back seat passenger. Wonder if anyone has hauled meat/game bags using lumber rack with a sheet of 1/4” plywood as a floor.

Ha! Indeed.
The answer of course is the Pilatus Porter...that you commandeer after a freefall off a cliff in Norway.

Even in Alaska, lumber racks have to be field approved. Good luck with that in the lower 48. I've not seen a Pacer with a lumber rack, but I'd bet there's one out there. Atlee Dodge sells a rack, but they are clear that it'd have to be field approved.
