So a wheel falling off a plane and hitting another is a mid air?

Oh my God!!!!!! Neither plane was talking to the control tower!!!!!! A huge news media violation of Something>>>>>because everyone knows that control towers are supposed to control all air traffic at all times....

I suspect the Cirrus driver heard a loud pop.

Hey, the Cirrus driver had a mid-air...with a wheel and tire.....Close enough, methinks. I'll bet that was a deeply moving experience for him, at least.

An acquaintance was doing a night IPC with a fellow in a Baron when a mallard duck came through the right side windshield and hit him in the face. His description of that was pretty interesting. Fortunately, the left seat pilot was still functional and was able to land the thing.
