Proof that the universe has a sense of humor

My maule is my first tailwheel and I had to hunt for a while to get insurance for a reasonable rate. I was totally unable to get insured on skis. Every year when I've renewed I've again tried to get ski insurance and had no luck. The universe, however, having a sense of humor has finally allowed the stars to align such that I can get ski coverage. Of course I leave for Mexico in two weeks... :D

You should have gone to Mexico right after you bought the airplane, insured it for ski flying then, then when you returned and re-upped your insurance the next year, there'd be no history of ski-flying accidents. Easy!

I hear that the Maule ski flying in Mexico is excellent this time of year!
You can use skis on the beach right?

Man that would be something.

My current plan has me flying about 250 miles following the east coast of Mexico from the border down to Tampico before heading west into the mountains and home.

Please post the hoops necessary to jump through to make a trip into Mexico.

Sounds like fun! 8)

Yup, as you found in the other post that's been a popular request. Starting photography for that this weekend. :-)

Just do some water-skiing when your down in Mexico. I hear they get some good waves...

They do indeed!

But you raise a point that I should cover in my video: Why do we live in the mountains in the middle of the country instead of at the beach?

There should be some waves in the video though. My current plan is to fly 200+ miles along the east coast of Mexico from Texas to Tampico before I head west into the mountains. On previous trips I've always flown the spine of the mountains from Monterrey or Saltillo.
