PT6 U206F

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Is 173 wearing old Pilgrim Airlines livery? My first hours at the controls were in Joe Fugare's Commanche.

Making progress. I think I have the same light you’re using and am very happy with it. Your shop foreman seems to be keeping a close eye on your work.

Flew it down to the Compass Rose so I can line up all the avionics. Really needs 29s on the mains.
She gained 70lbs on the scales. The -21 is 50lbs heavier than the -20s that I normally use. The 3450A Hydraulics, fittings, wiring are all in. The Avionics (Dual G500 displays 750 650) are really not that light. The GFC 500 autopilot is lighter than any Ive seen before. I lucked out and got the balance right for wheels. Ill shake her down on wheels for a while to learn the avionics and then lift it up on the floats.

Re: PT6 U206F

I bet it looks great. Trouble is, Google won’t let me see them unless I grant access to all of my photos. :?

Not sure why I have to show them mine before I get to see yours. I’ve denied permission. It’s privacy, but I’m also concerned that Google will invite itself to become my default photo storage options and screw with all the setting on my iPad.

Happy to learn I have this all wrong if someone can teach me.

Hey Pinecone I don't know about you but I learned at a rather young age that that is how it works. I will show you mine if you show me yours. Her name was Karen, lived across the street

Re: PT6 U206F

I dont know John Gallichon. My Father purchased Twin Otter Sn 14 N121PM from Joe Fugere. My Dad and John Rutledge were close friends from childhood and John brought my dad to the airport. John Rutledge was chief pilot at Pilgrim, picked up 1PM from the factory, 1PM was the first Twin Otter in commercial op in the US. John brokered the purchase of 1PM for my Dad who was a skydiving operator. My Dad used it for over 25 years and I talked to Joe on the phone many times for parts, etc. My Dad didnt give me 1PM and 173 (shown here), he sold them to me. Fair deal but not a great deal. At the time my wife was flying for John Rutledge, I was working in New England flying skydivers with my 206s and we lived at his guest house at Goodspeed. The negotiations for 1PM didnt start off very well, So John Rutledge brokered the deal between my Father and I. While I owned 1PM in Pilgrim colors, I decided to paint 173 to match as practice for if I was to put a fresh coat over 1PMs colors. I owed and operated 1PM for skydiving for 4 years and sold it. Used the -20s to build my 206s.

I didn't actually know Joe, just his plane  I guess at that time the Comanche wasn't getting flown enough, so Joe granted use of it my friend (and mentor) who was an airline captain.

This is a cool thread- I've been enjoying the progress over the years. Thanks!

Wheels on the plane go up and down, up and down. Could not get it out of the hangar. Was a good Fit and systems test. Back on wheels today. Scheduling a hangar at the local airport to do the swap again. Should go fast with my recent experience.
