Ran it up today. A couple of settings changes to the AFS engine monitor but no major problems. Getting closer!

Thanks for all the encouragement. Couldn't have done it without this GREAT community of airplane nuts.

We've been going at it pretty hard. Having an engineer as a partner who is very good at reading instructions and deciphering exploded diagrams helps a lot. It's getting ready to come to a screeching halt here in another couple of weeks though, Spring's a comin' and it's almost time to get back to work.

Re: Rans S7S

Second run up yesterday. Sync'd the carbs and fooled around with the cowl some more. We've got a fairly short punch list going. It might be possible that we're ready to contact our FAA man next week and ask for our AW inspection.

Re: Rans S7S

Cool. It will fly "normal", quirkless, nothing real different about it, other then slow landing speed, especially with a full VG kit. Good luck with the inspection, and I hope you left one or two small items for him to find! That is a trick taught to me by another long time homebuilder, better then them not finding anything, according to my friend that would get this particular inspector out of his hair sooner.

Re: Rans S7S

Inspection today. A couple of tips but no issues. Very painless. Guess we'll have to see if it flies now.

You know you want to. Really.

That is one great looking airplane you've put together! +1 on the paint job, very striking, clean lines!
