I'm planning on heading down Friday night or Saturday morning. May have a couple more planes with me, will have to confirm as we get closer.

I am planning on being there.

God williling my %$#@ing muffler will be back and installed in time, I've been waiting weeks already...

I'll not be camping but commuting. I'll overnight with my friends in Sonora, and rent or borrow a car out of O22.

I'll bring my mountain bike!

Looking forward to seeing you all, and my true 'hometown'. :D

Weather is iffy and I have 800 miles to travel VFR each way with a mountain range thrown in for fun.

I'll keep an eye on the weather and an open mind but I can't tell at this point if I can make it.

We will keep our fingers crossed that the wx allows you to make it.

Re: Red Hills Memorial Day Fly-in May 25-27, 2018

We're based at Pine Mountain Lake (E45) and my wife and I are thinking of bringing our SuperSTOL down for a bit on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Anyone have a sense of what's going on when? Or should we just show up for breakfast and feel it out?

Thanks!

Re: Red Hills Memorial Day Fly-in May 25-27, 2018

I've been waiting a whole year for this!
We are planning on being there Friday, we do have to make a first stop at Jackson to
return a loaner prop to Catto.

Got my new prop yesterday, so hopefully it will perform and I won't have any more mag issues as the Sensenich is
in a box and for sale.

Really disappointed about Lodi, we were having friends drive out to meet us there.
Waffles sound good, can't say we've ever had waffles near an airport before!

30% chance of rain and Tstorms, (as of right now) hopefully it will pass sooner ....or later!

It's a pretty loose affair. Just show up and hang out.

Please make sure to sign the waiver if you haven't already. Want to protect this little gem!

I'll be at Mandy's Breakfast House in Columbia.
It looks like an easy walk (2500 feet on google maps)
Here is their website http://mandysbreakfast.com/
Hopefully I can get out of Santa Rosa under the Marine layer in time to be there about 9:30.
I look forward to seeing the regulars and meeting new folks!

Great, we'll drop in. :-)

Now I need to get my new brake pads on and test 'em out...

Re: Red Hills Memorial Day Fly-in May 25-27, 2018

The contingency from KCCR is planning to arrive on Friday. We are pretty sure we can get out under the marine layer if conditions are acceptable at the Red Hills/Columbia area.

Since wx may be a problem and Columbia may be crowded, Jack & Myrna have arranged for transportation from Red Hills into Jamestown for breakfast on Saturday morning.

The plan is to depart around 9:00 AM from Red Hills.

Saturday will have the following activities:
Breakfast in Jamestown
Spot landing contest
Water balloon bombing contest
Mountain Bike riding
Hiking
Fly outs to area airports
Potluck dinner

Feel free to stop in for the day or camp with us for the weekend.

Red HIlls uses left traffic with pattern altitude of 2000'. Fly the pattern and communicate position on 122.9.

A safety briefing is available at:
http://youtu.be/G2TZk6qtHLg

The liability waiver is at:
https://goo.gl/HgZsXO

Fly safely.

I will be arriving Friday afternoon.

Spot Landing contest and Water Balloon contest will start about 2-3 pm Saturday. This is a loose time depending on any unaccounted for circumstances.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting some new ones.

Weather is good at Red Hill this morning. We have 3 planes & 2 paragliders this morning. Coffee is hot & a nice campfire.

It should be a GREAT day. We are leaving for breakfast at 9 AM.

Come on over and join us

Another Red Hills Fly In is in the bag. What an awesome time! Thank you to Rich and Hawk for carrying the torch on these events. I can’t wait to see Rich’s new movie of this year’s fly-in.

Re: Red Hills Memorial Day Fly-in May 25-27, 2018

Good time had by all. 18 planes attended with four drive ins. Good food, good people and a good time. Aaron Bartels won the Spot landing contest and Scott Newman and Tom Maring won the Balloon Bombing contest. Already looking forward to next year.
