God put me here to accomplish a certain amount of things...right now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!!

Re: Richard Bach hurt in plane crash......

Me too. My first instructor insisted that I read Jonathan Livingston Seagull back in 1972, and I became a Bach fan from that. Few can describe the joy of flight the way he does.

Waved to him as he taxied out, just a few weeks ago up at Orcas. Neat little plane. Glad he's going to be ok.

A super nice guy, I was told by the old Pterodactyl ultralight guru Jack McCornack, who sold Richard a plane.

When they were filming JL Seagull, parts were filmed on the Big Sur coastline south of Carmel, I remember the film crew all set up right where I was going to fly my hang glider that day, so I had to pick a new spot for the day! They were using a radio controlled seagull I believe, and they were there for the same reason I was, good lift :P

It's a great place to soar. I remember being there when the whale pods were silhouetted in the water below, and you could hear them breathe when they came up, even 1000' over the water.

I have to admit that Richard Bach was a big reason I became obsessed about flying when I was still in elementary school and jr hi.
