Re: Scammer in my PM

I've heard that they use bad English deliberately, so only the most gullible will reply.

Scammer in my PM

Just report the user, delete the message and move on. Creating a whole thread about it just creates more of a mess to clean up. Reporting the user allows it to be raised to Zzz and then the user can be banned.

Posting the entire message here does more harm than good.

Re: Scammer in my PM

I was laid up sick yesterday, will wipe this spammer clean this morning.

In the future just report any spammers/scammers directly to me.

Re: Scammer in my PM

Spammer disabled, PMs and friend requests deleted. I can't recall the notification emails though, so please disregard.

Sorry, all. This is the downside to not gatekeeping all new accounts anymore.

In the interest of "off-loading" you a bit Zzz is that task; gatekeeping, something that could be delegate under your oversight ?

Aryana, Didn't mean to ruin your day by posting the message. My reasoning was to see if others on this site had gotten a similar message and to be aware of it. When I opened the message and the friends request I had noticed that other posters on this site had accepted friend requests and my thoughts were for them to be advice of the scam. They probably accepted the friends request without bothering to see who sent the request. Apologies for trying to make others aware.

Zzzz, next time I will inform you directly. Sorry for the issue. Hope things in house hunting/buying are going well.

You aren't ruining my day with your post.

If you're the guy who has to clean the shit from the monkey cages, you'd understand why I said what I did.

Just use the report user feature which goes directly to Zzz, and you won't be stepping in and spreading the aforementioned shit all over BCP.

Scammer in my PM

No apology needed. We're all learning, everyday. Including me.

I need to learn to be more tactful. I was having a bad day and this hit home hard for me since I was dealing with a similar issue on a board I run. So it's me who needs to apologize for being a dick about it.

Re: Scammer in my PM

No big deal. I don't mind the thread. Makes it looks like I earn my wage.

My concern is that I'm not monitoring the site as closely these days, so contacting me directly is the fastest way for me to shut down the spammer.
