Processing the AVI files GOM Encoder allows me to lighten, sharpen, adjust
color, select segments and get the files down to a reasonable size.

I have been looking for a way to squash some large AVI files down to useable size.
What amount of crushing can you get away with without it looking chunky?
10:1, 100:1, 1000:1 ??
Pardon the high tech terms here.

The Oregon Scientific generates a 1 Gigabyte an hour AVI file at 30 fps or about 16 Megabytes a minute.
Processing with the GOM encoder down to 15 fps and the audio to 8 kilo-samples/sec gets it down to about 2 Megabytes a minute.

FWIW, I've got a Canon HV20 that will be here Wed. and will order this kit
http://www.helmetcamera.com/acart/agora ... amera_Kits tomorrow. The idea being to take video from the wing and or on the tail.
I will need help with software and how to post on the internet, please. I fly OK, but computers kick my butt.
