Shortfielder's headin East, any suggestions

I am leaving Colorado early June for my original homeland in upstate, northeastern (Northville) NY. I also expect to hit the Portland Maine area for a day or so.

If anyone has any suggestions of places to see along the way, good places for fuel, esp. mogas, camp, eat, etc. I am planning on a week, to week and a half to get back there, same on the return trip.

Thanks Gary

Depending on timing I will be at one of two places.

My home in Ohio is at OI27. ([NOTE: Runway length is 1000' NOT 2000' )

The house I rent in Pennsylvania is at P91 The Flying M Aerodrome.

You are welcome either location depending on where I am when you come through.

Gary, why don't you take along that spare 180 and drop it off at Evan's on your way by?

Re: Shortfielder's headin East, any suggestions

Yeah! I'm not certain I'll be around in June but if so you can stay here. Of course you can if I'm not here too but I can never guarantee the cow/runway/family/hooligan situation. We've had Cessna 170s land here during windy days better than I can, so you'll be ok. Evan mows his grass and there isn't cow crap to worry about, so he might be a better option. Graham is north and closer to a cheap LL fuel stop and he is camping friendly. His pipeyard has sort of closed the runway though so talk to him first.
Buy my 7 and you can take a fresh horse the rest of the way and Evan can come get the 180 at his leisure.

Where are you going to land it the Northville area and how long are you going to be around? You should come by North Creek (0NY0), there's some neat airplanes there for a small strip; 2 Myers OTWs, a short wing J3, standard J3, experimental biplane being built, Navy N3N, and probably one or two others. PBurns and I'd fly down to Northville to say hello if you'll be there for a bit.

Have a fun trip.

My old home drome: Shelburne, VT (VT8) is a grass strip with mogas. Fly over to Basin Harbor B06 (10 minutes away) another gorgeous grass strip right on Lake Champlain for great burgers.

If you want to come up and explore the western mountains of Maine, let me know and we can hook you up with some fun strips and maybe even some beaches if the water is low.

Well, if you do you can stop by our place too. I didn't offer before because I won't be there until late June. :-)

We're in southwestern Wisconsin.
