Show us your hangar signs

So you know you are in the final stretch of your hangar build when you start choosing signs and posters to go on the wall. The lady that runs our airport and has been ram-riding my hangar build brought these two signs over today. :-)

Re: Show us your hangar signs

I had this one made for my boss for Christmas last year, my iPhone made the white part look a little yellow but it looks great in person. It hangs in the office at the hangar.

Kevin, these are awesome!! Is this a current company, or is it just made-up? I really like these.

Hangar 24 Brewery in Redlands, CA. My brother went to college down there so he picked up these signs for our dad's hangar.

TCJ, I like those misery whips you have displayed. I had something similar (but smaller) on the front of my house, but some asshole stole it.

Three of them were my Grandpa's. He gave my older brother and I the Bucking saw (straight back) on the bottom when we were 8 and 9. We cut all the wood to heat our house by wood alone for 10 years. I probably had more time working it by the time I was 12 than anyone my age will ever have in their life. I found the smaller Felling saw (curved back) above it in the remains of a burned down miner's cabin at the keystone Mine in the hills above Bumping lake in 1968. It has all the original handle hardware too. I cut a proper diameter vine maple to make the handles for it.

At the Intercity Airport between Winthrop and Twisp WA. Not my hangar but I took the photos. If you are ever in the area stop by and they will give you a tour. There is a lot of really cool stuff in there.

Re: Show us your hangar signs

OK, this isn't your standard issue hangar sign, but it's what is on the wall in my T-Hangar. This is the propeller galaxy (NGC 7479). It is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Pegasus. Just like our propellers, this galaxy is spinning in the counter-clockwise direction. NGC 7479 is an extremely bright galaxy with an active galactic nucleus that contains a supermassive black hole. It is kind of like the black hole of expense that my plane is from time to time. This picture was taken by a 32-inch telescope, so it isn't a shot I was able to get with my toy 4" Maksutov-Cassegrain unit.

I also have a "PILF" sticker in my hangar that was a gift from my loving wife :D I don't have authorization to share a picture of that sticker, but I wasn't explicitly barred from mentioning it...
