Six Southern Utah Strips in less than 6 minutes

Here is a video compilation I had fun making and especially flying. Much of it is double speed with some normal speed spots. Used a GoPro 3 Black

Airports:
- Hanksville
- Dirty Devil
- Happy Canyon
- Poison Springs (flyby only)
- Hidden Splendor (twice)(from each direction)
- Mineral Canyon

Music by Freddy Jones Band and it actually was a Tuesday morning.

Re: Six Southern Utah Strips in less than 6 minutes

At first I used a GoPro Suction Cup, but it came off after an hour (glad I had it zip tied to plane). Then I put a little water on the suction cup and it worked great the rest of the day but now a very smart friend of mine made this

to go on my strut and it is fantastic. A piece of shrink wrap rubber tubing protects the paint and dampens vibration.

I used iMovie to edit..

That truly is some spectacular country! There aren't a lot of viable places to put down between those air strips. Does your engine sound like it is running rough when you get over the canyon lands?

Yes indeed, it seems all the senses seem to be invigorated. My eyes are trying to absorb the magnificent color and spectacular scenes, my ears are listening very closely for any change in engine sound and It even seems like the concentration on aircraft control gets sharper (although I'm sure you noticed my bounced landing at Dirty Devil in the video #-o ). And yes, there are many of places I would rather not try an emergency landing!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Love your video - Mike and I are headed to Blanding tomorrow (4/11) and then Hanksville on Saturday (4/12)! I have a whole week off from work to play in the Hanksville and Canyonlands area with our Rebel. Maybe we will see some of you out and about at Dirty Devil, Happy Canyon, Hidden Splendor and more! Your video really is getting me excited about this trip! Beautiful!

just fantastic mate! I used to ride mountain bikes and my sponsors where going to send me over there to ride the utah hill till I had a whoopsy and that was cancelled. I really wish I got to go because that just looks amazing! however as fun as the bike would have been, a maule would be a even more fun again!
