Lets hope for nice wx. Camp fire in the Mojave, cot under the wing, adult beverages, guns. Sounds like my kind of fun!

77/54 wind 10-20 day 5-15 night. That is good. Probably change by Friday.

Re: Sixth Annual Bacon Strip Rally/Fly-In 2012

Winds sat and sun are forecast light, with clear skies. Perfect. No moon and lotsa stars. The BSR Fly-In ought to be epic!

BBQ's & charcoal will be available for use all day saturday.

Three awards will be given out saturday early evening; 1) Best Aircraft 2) Best Aero Camp 3) Longest Distance Flown.

The plaque unveiling and official christening of the new "Johnny B's Bar & Grill will take place next. After that it's stand around, gaze at the stars, sip beverages and tell lies around the campfire. In other words, the usual pilot stuff.

Hey Rob,

I'm planning to head out Friday late afternoon unless high winds scare me away.
Luckily the wind for sat and sun is still forecast to be light. Let's hope it stays that way.

Departed the Chicken Strip this morning headed for Bermuda Dunes. I had to go right over The Bacon strip so I landed to check it out. Everything looks great. Should be a fun time this weekend.

Also found quite a few spots in the desert to land so did that too. My Drift didn't like the 16GB card so I have no video, damn

Would it be safe to assume it is not on shortfield.com because it is not a published aerodrome?

You can add new airports, whether they're in the FAA database or not, by emailing [email protected]

Hey Rob,

Very Cool photo!

Would you care to comment (hopefully positively!) on the new shade roof? Yeah, it's kinda plain right now, but eventually it will be decorated with cowskulls, a windsock, aircraft parts, etc.
