Used to run the porter in and out of that place . Guy who used to own it also ran his widgeon and the occasional Twin otter on occasion .

Awesome! That looks like a fun strip to land.
Do you have a takeoff out of there you can post?

Lovely approach; looks like great fun.

Teach a pilot to land on the centerline, I'll tell you what!

Nice video Larry.

Interesting, I have never landed to the East on that strip.

One of these days we need to pass the hat to buy those guys a new wind sock and get it installed.

Re: Sky Harbor PNW

Agreed about the windsock.
Who owns that strip?
Hangars are all destroyed and I have never seen anyone there.
Someone takes care of mowing the grass though.

Re: Sky Harbor PNW

Guy that used to live there built Cubs , as well as other planes . We bought our Porter from him that he plucked out of the jungle in Laos, also put together a couple of Twin otters there . We always landed west and departed to the east in the Porter . Did quite a few jumps out of the Porter there . Nobody living in the house huh ? That's too bad that it's abandoned .its a pretty cool place . He had a Widgeon that he parked there as well . Pretty exciting watching him use up every inch of that strip in that plane. Hell of a pilot .

He's based at Monroe now, a few miles to the west.
His ex stayed there in the house at Sky Harbor, she's a pilot herself.
She may not still live there now, don't know, but she's still listed as airport manager.

Re: Sky Harbor PNW

Cool video, thanks!
I landed there once in a 172 and the guy that owned it basically chewed me out pretty good for landing at his private strip and then spent the next four, enjoyable hours taking me through all of his projects. What I got of his life story was interesting. It was a great way to kill a day basking in airplane relics and war stories.

Additional remarks on Airnav, likely in AFD as well:

"CONTACT KATHRYN PERRY 425-359-4625 FOR FACILITY INFORMATION PRIOR TO USE."
