No that's not me, I did run into him this weekend at Shoestring. Didn't realize he was instructing.
I fly a white and red kitfox on bushwheels. Are you into visitors if so I'd like to stop by sometime.

Private message me and I will give you my cell number. Runway condition is the issue. I don't want any accidents and I dont want to tear up the runway. It is in really nice shape for not being rolled since 2008. I plan to do some water run off management this summer to help with the drainage issues. I don't plan to fly much this winter. I have to keep my nose to the grindstone to get my new paint shop up and running. Play time will be in the spring.

Sounds like you wanna go to the 850's anyway, might as well put them on now. But maybe wait a bit untl the strip hardens up some anyway.
I've got 850's on my own C180 (I think they're Desser's "monster retreads"), if & when I decide to go bigger I'll probably go with the 26" GY's. Is there an STC available or is it a field approval show?

Finally got my 180 home today to it's new home. Had to tie it down outside because my hangar is full of paying jobs. Hopefully will be building a new hangar for storage of my airplanes sometime in the spring.

Glad to here it. Have you thought about putting up a hoop building. They're pretty reasonable and out here people use them for machinery, livestock, and grain storage. It can get pretty windy and snowy but they seem to hang in there pretty good.

I can relate, I've been in no mans land the last few weeks on the wheel skis (6:00 tires). Not enough snow for a pure ski takeoff, but soft mushy ground mixed with snow for the small tires. So today I knocked down the drifts on the runway with the Kubota's snowblower, leaving it half bare grass/ dirt and half snow, with a berm on one side. Then when I finally got in the air I saw as I flew towards town that is was 100% socked in with heavy fog. It's been a real crappy winter (so far) for ski flying here, soft fields are part of the problem, wish I had my Airstreaks on but that could change overnight

I have looked into those types of structures. Seem to be a good deal. There are a lot of them around our area. My brother, nephew, and a bunch of our friends can erect a pole building in a few days. I will need a building permit and cash, which is at an all time low right now. The old girl has spent most of her life indoors, I think she'll survive 1 winter outside.
The temp was 45 yesterday, but the ground was frozen all except the top half inch. It was slippery but no problem. I am glad to have her home.
Now I need to figure out what to do with the Avid and another project that is in pieces.
