Whee,
It might be safer to find someone to watch out for your dog while you are gone :)

Hi Larry
There is lots of room. Easily park 50 planes. People wanting rooms should probably reserve them early. Lots of room for camping also.

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

Tried to post some pictures of the ranch that I had, including overview, lodge, rooms, boat launch, parking/camping areas.
Wasn't smart enough to do it, but they are in my gallery if you want to look at them.

Zane, feel free to bring 'em over if you want

Great work Gary!!! It's on my calendar. I'm going to need more time off. The summer is getting full of a lot of good flying. I hope the flying funds last all summer.

Thanks for organizing this. I would love to come and explore the area. Think that I'll plan on flying the C180 and if anybody wants to fly along from the Kansas City area, let me know.

Well, I'll try this again. This should be a shot, showing a lot of the grounds, giving you an idea of the area we have at out disposal. looking downriver(SW).

And this folks, is proof that prayer works :D =D>

This is an overvew of the ranch, looking southwest

Next pic is the boat launch, giving easy access to the river

Next, we have the lodge. It is 2 levels. Upstairs, kitchen dining area, lounge with pool table and fireplace. Downstairs(is daylighted) has, I think, 3 berooms, and a game room, couple couches, foosball table.

Then we have inside the lodge, showing some of the dining area and some of the kitchen.

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

One thing I would like to say again, just incase someone has joined and is not aware of this publication.

Galen Hanselman has published a great book, and map of Utah backcountry airstrips. If you are unfamiliar with this area, I STRONGLY recommend that you buy the book and map as soon as you can, and start studying it. There is A LOT of GREAT information here. All most invalueable. It will really make your trip better, give you a better understanding o the area and the strips, and a lot of help when you need it.

Here is the link to find out more about it.

Here's a front view of the lodge

Looking up and down the 2700' runway. I prefer landing upstream. Aproach from either direction is fine, but I think the one from downstream is better. Go arounds should be no problem.

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

I just posted a bunch of pictures of Caveman Ranch to my gallery. We went there in the end of August during a cool spell (90 degrees). It's a pretty cool place, and the guy who is the caretaker, Johnny, is one interesting dude. I'll post the images here too when I get the time.
