Strippers & Peelers: Have I got your attention now !!
Aircraft building and project-level overhaul forum -- Kitplanes, experimental amateur-built, homebuilding, or even restoration of certified aircraft.
To all,
I'm canvassing for the most efficient, least toxic method for removing paint off of an aluminum airframe in preparation for a re-spray.
Thank you in advance,

I haven't stripped a plane in several years, but unless things have changed you will have a choice between least toxic, and most efficient. You can't have both.

Mow more lawns, shovel more driveways, save up money, pay a pro to strip airplane. Paying a pro to strip is the best value and money well spent in aviation, just ask anyone who has done it.

I second this. I started on the tail of a 150 I had and woke up with a hang over....plus the airport wasn't thrilled with me stripping in the hangar after work. I paid to have it painted and it was well worth it.

I wish there was a way to vapor blast an airframe. Makes aluminium look AMAZING!
I like to say it like that to keep people on their toes.
