I'm no expert on Cubs but Christina Young's L-21 sure looks a lot like a Super Cub.

Does anyone have more info?

I fly an L-21 and there are no structural differences. Mine was originally 135hp and was a trainer in the Italian military. Biggest difference on mine is the dual overhead switch panels to allow the passenger (instructor) to turn on/off the landing light and master switch.

Alaskabound,
What a coincident, Christina's plane was in the Italian Air Force as well. I saw her log books, it was all written in Italian up until they decommissioned the plane. I think she is still on the forum and travels to Alaska in the summer, look her up if you want.

Crazy stuff! My bird went from Italy to Canada before it was ultimately brought into the states. Unfortunately all the logbooks are gone prior to its import. All my switch labels are in Italian though

Be careful on off airport ops. The Italians used pasta for longerons.
They put in more "glass" so pilots were more visible, when waving their arms @ each other.
Otherwise, same a/c.

I think they are also the same as a PA-19.

FMCDH!
I was picking up a C185 at KVPC last month & got to ride in a beautifully restored ex-Italian L-21, it was a poop brown when the owner bought it, he found original mil photos of it & recovered/repainted it to match. Id love to have one of those one day!

Blessed are the curious, for they shall have great adventures!
There is no difference between a PA-18 and an L21 other than the shape of the window. All L21's have a military history. Mine is a 1954 L21B that started out as a 135HP. It is now STC'd to 150. Mine was a U.S. Air Force Observer plane. No they are not hot in the summer - the door is open. They are warm in the winter. The view from the back seat is great. No difference from the front.
