Well, I'm glad I didn't go after all! As of noon, I still can not see the top of the Butte and further up the valley to the north from my house here in Emmett. Only one plane flew over the house this morning and it was pretty low.

Hey Rob, sounds like your having fun!!  It's nice down here in Emmett, in my house that is. Anyway hope you get out of there soon and safe! Did you run across JoeCub? He and Red was supposed to be up the the whole weekend.

Also, being that I decided not to go, I'll for sure make my airline flight back to work tonight.

Re: SuperCub Flyin at Johnson Creek

Well, JoeCub and two others flew over my house around 3:15pm MT. So they were able to get out of there.

Rob, if you get this message soon and you can atleast get down here to Emmett, your more than welcome to stay at my house where it's warm and dry. Give me a call if you want. Pat

Re: SuperCub Flyin at Johnson Creek

My daughter and I had a great time at Johnson Creek. We flew in early Thursday, which was perfect weather-wise. Our plan was to head north to Moose Creek and later to Schafer in Montana, but despite two attempts on Friday and Saturday, it just wasn't happening weather-wise. We ended up flying back to Oregon yesterday, since today was looking pretty bad weather-wise. Tomorrow should be a lot better.

We missed you Rob, but we had a great time with Blackrock, his wife and buddy, and met some great folks from all over the country.

Maybe I'll make it for next weekend. Looks like the weather will be great!

My eight-year-old daughter just pointed out that I wrote "weather-wise" three times in one paragraph in my last post. The Hemingway of my generation I'm clearly not. #-o

Re: SuperCub Flyin at Johnson Creek

The trip started good. The weather was going down hill so I made sure to get out Friday morning. I hit Indian Cr, Thomas Cr, Mahoney, and the Flying B. The B is a great spot for back country luxury. Only way in, hike, horse, or plane. $160.00 a night gets you 3 hots and a cot. Really the meals are way better than average and the cabins are very nice. The B does not advertise other than word of mouth.

Saturday I stayed on the ground and watched the show, and what a show it was over 100 planes coming and going. I must be old, because them Cessna 180/185 things with the loud props SUCK. The 1st one sounds cool, after that it is get my gun. Do you think they will dial the prop back a little, NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Just like the Harley crowd. So freeking loud and you don't even get the whole affect in the plane. This is one reason people try to ban airplanes.

All the SuperCub guys and gals were, super, well what did you expect, they fly super planes.

Wup and the whole Alaska Bushwheel family were there. They trucked in a huge amount of camping gear and food. If anybody needs a Beaver or Turbine Otter ABW is it. Bill and Dianna made us oysters and kabobs over the camp fire. The real professional camp mooch, me, got breakfast too. :D Bill made us morning coffee too. Now don't y'all need some of them big Bushwheels.

The wifi that mauleace and a bunch of us here helped with is great. When the weather went down and some sucd ran to get out, I'm sure the internet weather helped them. Here is the link too how the wifi came to be.

They were more than SuperCubs there. I saw Bonanza, Cessna, Beaver, Beech Stagger wing, RVs, Maule, Glass Star, Bush Hawk, Bear Hawk and some I don't know.

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

Where did you get this information? We had nice weather for the most part... a few weather issues Sunday but otherwise pretty good. Are you passive aggressive or something?
