I’ve already flown about 10 hrs with the chest pack on. Really happy with it so far.

With a handline, a hook, and a raisin from my bag of trail mix.... success is not very likely.

Along the same line, I cringe when I see first aid packs with suture material or a chest tube.

First is the problem of diagnosis. I’ve had a pneumothorax bad enough to require a chest tube. The paramedic missed the diagnosis. You probably will, too. Then there’s use of the material. If you don’t know how to use it at home, it’s unlikely you’ll figure it out when you’ve just crashed hard enough to cause bleeding somewhere, and you or someone else is bleeding badly enough to need stitches.

Don’t forget to stuff a pair of eyeglasses somewhere.
