TAWS aka EGPWS

Finally back on floats with the new avionics, 2 GI-275s, GNC355 and CGR30P. Adds a lot of functionality but have found one hitch, well besides the non functioning #3EGT channel.
With updated databases, the GI-275s yell TERRAIN Pull Up, constantly while landing and taking off. Totally understandable for a landplane since one would not be operating a landplane in such conditions. But how do I set them for float ops?
I have a call in to Garmin but thought it might interest others getting or considering new “modern” avionics.

Re: TAWS aka EGPWS

Do you have an external TAWS inhibit switch? It’s key. No more going through menus to inhibit the warnings. I use it 5x/day at work for glacier landings. Never use the terrain system on floats but I imagine same problem.

It doesn’t need to be the garmin brand annunciation panel like this, a simple momentary switch can be wired for the function. Same for traffic warning.

Im told the gi275 is a mini G3X. So on the G3X you have to be on the terrain page. hit menu. and there will be options to inhibit terrain. Ken
