Only in Washington DC could you hear grown adults talk seriously of submitting wildland firefighting to the same perverts and hopeless f*ckups presently in charge of airline security. I'll bet for mere billions, we could theoretically save millions on wildfires. Which, by the way, is specifically what this is all about.....the head shed of the wildland fire community seeing the opportunity to tie terrorism to fire, and therefore get the government to spend all sorts of $$$$$$$ on new fire retardent aircraft.

Mepps is absolutely correct on all points. Good grief, there have been arson fires in the woods for decades, and nobody suggested they were terrorist plots.
