This thing is SICK!!!

I know these have been around for a while. Has anyone flown one??? Looks BA. Does it perform as good as it looks? This one is for sale on Alaska's List.

Re: This thing is SICK!!!

Our local avionics shop seems to get more of these Katmais in than you'd expect--I've seen 3 different ones in there, and I'm not there all that often. Seems if there is $$$ enough to modify the airframe, then there is $$$ enough to upgrade the panel to glass etc. The owner of the shop is a CFII and has flown them and says that they fly pretty normally, until you get down into what would be the stall range with a normal 182. Where a normal 182 with full flaps under power at 40 knots will be pretty nose high to maintain level flight, the Katmai has an AOA that is nearly level. One of these days, I would like to go up with him when he does the avionics function test, just to see for myself.
