Upper Loon

Did a quick solo overnight camping trip on 6/3/19 to test a new sleeping pad and pillow setup I bought recently from Nemo. (great excuse LOL)

Strip was perfect and so were the views!

Tell us about the pad and pillow. Particularly the pillow — my normal pillow is too heavy to take along.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a tag in my pocket and a .300 WM with me, looking for just such a creature.. :lol:

Absolutely, I'm a pretty big guy (6'6" 220lb) so I grabbed a Nemo Cosmo 3D insulated in the XL size. Not as light as their ultralight offerings, but much more supportive for my size. It's extremely comfortable, and seemingly durable as well. The pillow is the Nemo Fillo, it's a tiny inflatable pillow with an incorporated stuff sack. Has a soft microfiber type cloth on one side to simulate a real pillow. It's great and very light.

Pad weighs 48oz and the pillow is 9oz.

For sure, I had neither tag or gun, but did have bear. Got within 45' of me, he knew I was there and was coming to check me out, but a little arm waving and yelling ran him off. One time, out of 8 or 10 times a Loon.

"My Pillow" makes a small pillow that fits a sleeping bag perfectly.
