Vancouver to Yukon

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Vancouver to Yukon

After a week of cold, rain and snow in Whitehorse we finally made it to Dawson Yukon. Stopped at Braeburn aka cinnamon bun strip.

Good for adjusting CofG.

Airstrip at Dawson is interesting.

Tires are getting bigger as we go north.

And interesting solutions for gravel.

And a 737 with the gravel kit comes into the airstrip (5,000ft) making a dramatic cloud of dust on landing.

Will hike Tombstone range tomorrow but winter has come early this year, lots of snow and have missed peak colour on tundra and will not go further north - next year.....

What a crazy terrain feature that has become! It kinda reminds me of a sliced ham, and now my mouth is watering.

Re: Vancouver to Yukon

Great trip, 31hrs, 1800nm
The light in the north is wonderful, seems a little dark back here in Vancouver.
A couple of days of rain in Stewart but last day in sun with tailwind.
