Video-Stene QuasarCX Wingtips- LED Taxi, Landing, Recogntion

Little edit of Willies new wingtips on his 185 when we were at Schafer Meadows this past June. Pretty dang cool, and bright as the sun!

The video doesn't even do them justice.

All of these pulsing lighting systems are good to have, if other pilots are looking. That's the problem--there are too many pilots who aren't looking.

I've had my HID landing and taxi lights pulse with a Pulselite module for several years, and although I know my airplane is way more visible as a consequence, I also know that it's not a total solution. At first, I was surprised when my airplane was pointed directly at a tower, I was exactly where I just told tower where I was, and the tower controller said, "not in sight". Now I'm accustomed to it. It all depends on how hard they're looking, as I've had tower controllers say that they don't see me when I'm only 2 miles away and others see me when I'm still more than 5 miles out.

These lights make a huge difference, highly recommend. I don't have the wingtip Quasar's yet, but got all the other Aero LED nav/strobes, pulsing taxi, and beacon. Also have an HID landing light, and run all the lights 100% day VFR.

Highly recommend dealing with Stene Aviation if your thinking bout getting some, no better folks to work with.

As far as the debate that pilots not paying attention won't see them...god save us all from the pilot that doesn't look out the window!!! May not be as important in the nosebleeds on flight following, but if your rolling through some mountain/desert canyons, the other plane's are gonna see these lights coming at em, guaranteed [emoji1303]
