Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Had a great flight this morning! Unfortunately like most of my winter flights it was mostly under NG and N conditions. Here's a few (terrible quality) shots in the dim light.

First stop was a quick fly-over of Chena Hot Springs Resort. We kept pretty high so we wouldn't bother anyone but it was neat to see it lit up. Next up was a mountain in the area north east of R-2205. I'm not sure what it's actually called but we call it Butte. Next we followed the Salcha down to the Tanana and rode that home. Finished up with a PAR for practice. All in all it was a really nice flight ending with a beautiful, slow sunrise!

Nice pics! I've spent a lot of time snowboarding at all those resorts, and the passes too.

I just flew back yesterday, and class starts today. That means I won't be able to make the Front Range Meet and Greet, but I'll have to check out out next time I'm back!

Saw you doing landings on Sat., now I know who owns that Piper.

I went to Cal Poly a few years back, use to fool around in the Pismo dunes then, too.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew out to Half Moon Bay today to take Tieton for a hike along some ocean side cliffs.
Image

Of course I had to pick up a growler of beer from Half Moon Bay Brewing Company since we were there, Frosty Wave Winter Ale!

The flight home was beautiful

Re: Where did you fly today?

Nowhere special, really. Lake Hood Strip to the Big Lake VOR then around the practice area for a bit before doing a few touch and goes at Merrill then back to Lake Hood. Of course, once we got back to Lake Hood, however, I did get a pretty neat little piece of paper with 'Temporary Airman Certificate' at the top! If I don't stop smiling I might break my face!

I know its a horrible picture, but heres the proof that I got the dust blown off after sitting for 2 1/2 months! Just a short trip to Wenatche (15 miles) for a little blue juice. Finaly had a little sun today(along with a few low clouds and a couple snow flakes) so I played hookie from work this afternoon. Maybe next time I'll remember a real camera!
