I had to drive over unfortunately... oh well! Hey thanks, I actually work as a climbing guide at Smith so it is kinda nice to get paid to hang in the park. Yesterdays group was hell, but today we had some nice cute WSU girls so that was nice

and yes the weather was much nicer, but the wind didn't help the after work fly fishing. Are you out of Bend, Redmond or Madras? I fly into Redmond a lot during the summer for work, don't know any pilots in Central Oregon, so I'm always game to make friends and go flying. I actually just got permission from the BLM to land on the road by the canal near the Marsupials area of Smith Rock... so fly in hiking or climbing?
Sweet gig! And I don't know where you're fishing but there's a salmon fly hatch on the deschutes right now!
I live in Terrebonne and we moved the planes from Redmond to Prinenille last year. It's about a 20 minute drive, five minute flight. I'd love to connect with you one of these days and do some flying! Let me know when. From the sounds of it though, you'll have to be the tour guide

. Speaking of which, are you talking about the canal road at the base of Burma (the Marsupials)? First of all well done getting permission from the BLM to land there, and second of all let me know for sure when you're going to do it because I definately want to be there to watch and video your landing! That's tight if it's where I'm thinking!
I'm not much for climbing but I do mountain bike at the rock. Here's a pic I took last week:

They don't call it "Monkey Face" for nothing!
