Frankly, that is probably one of the worst things they've ever done. Ever since, a significant industry has developed, aimed at teaching people the tests.

The FAA, as noted, is now in the process of changing the test questions, to more accurately reflect the current status of aviation. Hopefully, there won't be any more questions regarding interpretation of printed weather charts that nobody uses or even sees any more.

In the meantime, it would now appear that applicants are going to have to actually study the MATERIAL instead of the test questions and answers.

Frankly, I think that's a good thing.

Re: Where's the source for FAA test Q&A's

A little follow up here on my commercial/instrument ratings. I signed up with Aviation seminars for there weekend prep courses for the commercial and written weekend prep classes. Was a successful weekend for the commercial, passing the test on the following Mondaay. Not so good for the instrument, I got a 54 Too much new information for this tired old brain to absorb over a weekend, but both classes were very/good/helpful, and I felt really helped the learning process.
After fluckin the instrument test I bought the a 2011 ASA Test Prep book and ponded that for a couple weeks, also had the Sporty's instrument DVD class which helped, but I would have done fine w/o it. I got the use of it for a 12 banger of PBR from Durango Skywagon, thanks Brad.. Did about 20 practice exams, retook the test Fri. and got an 83, so very happy with everything, and ready to move forward.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.
