Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Re: William's stc

Williams is not in business anymore... The STC was sold to Pete's Precision Welding in Canada... Phone is 905-728-4616... Hopefully that is current, I have not called in several years...

He had several stc's, and I spoke with him this time last year. Since then he has not returned any emails of calls. Does Pete's have all of his STC's?

As far as I know, yes... At least the toe brakes and Cleveland disks...

If you are interested in the single puck disks I also have an STC for that..

Brian,
How the heck are you? Long time. I'm looking for his cessna 150-150 stc. Not stuff for the 22. I have to sell the tripe, as much as I love my skylight!

Re: William's stc

Think youre talking about 2 different Williams's.
Sounds like the OP is looking for Bob & Barbara Williams in Udall Kansas, of Bush STOL & Avcon Conversions fame.
Caution, they dont have much of a reputation for customer service.

Re: William's stc

Do you have an STC for the engine conversion you're doing?
If not yet, I'd contact DelAir in Porterville CA,
they own all three of the old Texas Taildragger C150 STC's.

Phone number goes to unidentified (no inbox message) voice mail.

FWIW, I've talked with DelAir regarding the AVCON Williams STC, also with no tangible result. DelAir at least picked up the phone, but there was zero follow through from the owner. Zip.

Maybe because DelAir doesn't own or handle the Avcon STC, #SA750CE. Bob Williams owns that one.
Dellicker would probably be glad to talk to you about the one they do own--
the old Custom Aircraft Conversions / Aircraft Conversion Technologies / Texas Taildragger STC, # SA4795SW.

Staying busy with 3 kids of my own and now raising my 5yo niece...

As others stated, we are talking about two different entities.. I saw your avatar of the Tri-Pacer and went the Piper route.. LOL
Have not done a Lyc. conversion on a C-150 in years so have no recent experience with getting the STC to do so.

Good Luck.

Paper n sissors,
Ya I didn't get the warm and fuzzies after talking to porterville either, quoted me 13k #-o .
After thinking about it, I dont know if he meant for the stc it's self or for it and the rights.
Hang in there Brian... I'm finally an empty nester again...

Re: William's stc

At Delair it is a long distance from the phone to the shop - several rooms sometimes- When you call ask if Chris is there-
They "basically" have all their own STCs- I had the full original "Bush" kit on my plane when I bought it- N4650C - Spent several years rebuilding it and came away with a mix of the Bush and several Delair products- Even got a Field Approval for VGs on the Round Tail of the 170-

I had a FULL bush set of documents Paper and scanned Disc. but they went with the plane- Avion Corp. - if available should also have a set of the Bush Docs. Might be able to buy a copy from them-

Nuff for now

Re: William's stc

As I recall,
Harry told me that the difference between Bush and Avcon was whether he or she got to the phone first- A less than amicable relationship between a couple of divorced or separated squabblers- Could be off a bit here-

One fact is Harry Delicker died some years ago- July 2013
Shop was taken over by his best employee Chris-

Re: William's stc

I don't think I'd actually mind going the field approval route if I at least had the documents to referance. But I'm not seeing 13k for paperwork and a motor mount.

Re: William's stc

MBpilot88A, could you let us know how you go with the STC from Williams?

I also want an STC from them, but have been hesitant to attempt contacting them due to the poor reputation they seem to have.

If you don't mind me asking, did you get a paperwork only STC or a full kit with parts etc..? And was it expensive?

Cheers

Re: William's stc

Bob seems to be johnny on the spot when you are looking to purchase an stc from him, customer service after the sale is less than stellar.

The package is paperwork only, he is no longer selling an installation kit. The Price is $1250.

This may not be the best option for most people, it was the best option for me because I had already acquired most of the parts needed for the swap.

He does still offer the tailwheel conversion stc for the early 172's as well, just the paperwork though.

Re: William's stc

Could someone provide me Williams email please? On here or via PM.

MBPilot88, Which STC did you buy for $1250?

I'm seeking out an STC for 180hp upgrade, and tailwheel conversion for C172H.

Happy flying!
