Wing height on amphibs
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
Looking for the wing height of Cessna 185/206 on amphibs. Putting a mezzanine in a hangar and need to make sure the wing will fit underneath.
Thanks in advance

Howdy Keith,
I have all that info. I’m hoping someone will actually put a tape measure on one and see. My guess is that it will be slightly different than calculated. It’s right up there with people who say their plane weighs X, when it really weighs Y when put on a set of scales. Seeing is believing.
Cheers

I don't have a number for you either but one other consideration is that the wing will move up quite a ways if the strut (I know that some models of floats use rubber donuts) or tire on the opposite side were to go flat. Just a consideration.

I was definitely taking that into considering.
I’m guessing that you know it’s a long way to fall based on previous experience eh Mike?

185 on Aerocets, just off the jacks during annual, light, so fully extended main gear. 11’0” at the wing tip. 11’4” to the tops of the com antennae.
