Wing X and sportsman STOL just installed

Just flew my plane home after having my sportsman STOL and wing x installed. So far, I'm very happy. Got off the water quicker for sure and way more stable on final and in the flare. After I put the plane away for the winter, I'll put my VGs on and I'll be ready for the small lakes :)

Did you go south of the border for the install?

No Steve, had my mechanic here do the work - he did a nice job - just need to get it painted.

Not without some practice in your markedly different airplane! :)

Reminds me of when Wife 1 and I dragged a new Missouri Foxtrotter home from St. Louis. 2 years old, and not even halter broke, we decide to have her professionally trained. So we trailered her and Wife 1's Quarterhorse to a really good trainer north of Cheyenne, and after a couple of months, she called. "Your horses are ready, but you aren't--you can't have them back until we have 3 full weekends of training for both of you!"

She was right--without being trained ourselves, we'd never have been able to make the horses do what they were now capable of doing. Same with your airplane, substituting practice for training. Your stall speed will be lower, but it'll also feel a lot different when it's ready to stall. So practice, practice, practice, so that you can go into those small lakes (and get back out!).
