Wings Over the Rockies Movie

If this doesn't cause your eyes to moisten a bit then you probably shouldn't be flying.

Re: Wings Over the Rockies Movie

Yeah, good video. I enjoyed it.
Harrison Ford seems to me to be the real deal when it comes to being a pilot.
He's the only celebrity I've ever heard somebody mention meeting at an airport somewhere, or who flies the cool kind of airplanes I'd fly if I had the dough.
I'm not impressed with John Travolta wearing his airline pilot shirt  Or any other entertainment or sports celebs I've ever heard of being associated with aviation.

Re: Wings Over the Rockies Movie

I think he is "the real deal"--and a pretty nice guy to boot.

Last year at OSH I was chatting with someone at the drinking fountains, and he mentioned that earlier in the week he was walking toward the gate when a golf cart stopped, and the driver asked if he wanted a lift. He got on the back, and the driver turned to him with an outstretched hand, "Hi, I'm Harrison." Very down to earth.

Then there's the story about lady who was rescued by a helicopter from an auto accident site north of Jackson, WY. Ford was the helicopter pilot, and she didn't even learn who it was until after she was in the ER.

Great video. Here's a pic of me back when I used to hang out at the Smoke Jumper base at McCall.

180marty, what where you doing in McCall? I flew jumpers in '99 and know most of the guys that flew up there.

Great video too btw!

I spent the winter of 88/89 plowing snow and telemark skiing on Brundage Mtn. I befriended Dennis McCoy(smoke jumper) skiing and hung out with him several summers and met quite a few at the base. I was Telemarty at Brundage. Wasn't that good but had fun. Between hanging out at the McCall Air Taxi, the breakfast crowd with the guy I was plowing snow, and Dennis, he said I knew more people than he did and he lived there.

Nice! I wish I could have hung out in McCall longer than I did. Love that area!

Re: Wings Over the Rockies Movie

I remember many times, when I was little, of dreaming that I could fly. It seemed so normal and real, probably some of the best dreams I've ever had.
