Wingsuit Reentry Back Into A Porter!

Here's video of Jeb Corliss trying to fly a wingsuit BACK INSIDE a Pilatus Porter.

Here's the video of the only time it has actually been done (as far as I know). Performed by Patrick de Gayardon .

Prolly best not to overshoot--could wind up as wingsuit burger going through the prop. Of course, with enough skill and daring and speed, he could probably go between the blades.

Anybody else think these wingsuiters are nutso?

Anyone remember the movie Goldeneye? James Bond rode a motorcycle off a dam and free-flew into a Porter and pulled it out of a dive in the nick of time (of course). Don't know how much of the free-flying was phonied up, but it made for a cool scene in the movie.

Seems like wearing a helmet wouldn't have been a bad idea, just saying.
What a concept, a totally useless feat but cool nonetheless.

If he screwed the pooch on this, a helmet probably would not have helped much.

Nutso as in "they're all dead". The guy that made it back in pancaked a couple years later in Hawaii, his partner shortly thereafter, the guy in the other James Bond movie too. About 25 per year, worse odds than airshow flying. Jeb Corliss clipped Table Mtn near Capetown and badly broke both legs, but still wants to give the grim reaper another shot, so he's still in the running.

Maybe the wing suit is a Darwinian thing. 8)

Re: Wingsuit Reentry Back Into A Porter!

Just heard Dean Potter and Graham Hunt were killed in a wing suit jump yesterday at Yosemite. If any of you Backcountry pilots ever made it into Chuck Burchill's strip at Homathko at the top end of Bute inlet, he may have shown you the aluminum ramp he built for Dean Potter's jump.

Video of Dean's jump from Bute Mountain.

And a video of going in and around the Homathko strip.
