Kicking myself for selling my 59' 182 last year. I am starting to look again. Looking for a 182 with lower TT and engine times. Ideally with big tires all around (upgraded nose fork), extended baggage, sportsmans stol, paint and interior good, IFR. Straight tail would be preferred but would consider others.

Not much out there forsale with any of these goodies. I would prefer to get it ready to go and not add on.

Considering 180's and 185's also but we know the price for the cool factor. I have explored a few gasp *maules* but prefer the Cessnas (ergonomics, cockpit size, etc).

Cessna 205 is also on the list, but might have better luck with a 182.

There are several "adventure ready" early 180s on the market running in the same cost territory as 182s.

If you don't mind mediocre paint and interior, you should be able to find a decent example for around 60-70k. Higher time engines and older radios just add to the adventure

Hence the 182 dont want to upgrade radios, engines, farkles ..

A pretty slick '56 180 just hit barnstormers too. $62k with 31s or $57 with 8.50s. Looks nice.

just get one, load your bike up, land near good single track, wait for me to land at same, then we'll hit the skies and the trail all in one go!

The 180 on barnstormers looks like a pretty hot setup: Sportsman STOL, Garmin296, 31Bushwheels... Lots of candy. The engine time is a little high, but if you could do a field overhaul yourself, you could probably end up flying for a year or three and making some cash on it.

That is a pretty sweet 180. I saw it up there a couple hrs ago. What is the TBO on the 0-470K? How about a 470R?

1500 hrs tbo I believe.
Head cold has me up and this is not helping me go back to sleep. That's a sweet looking 180 , fits the non budget (never is airplane budget). Add an extended baggage and would be set.

Any recommendations for prebuy A&P out in Lamar?

Yes! I actually want TW time and eventually teach TW (have cfi) so a 180 could be 'justified'. Wife even thinks I need the cool factor so I shut up about wanting more TW flying . She just wants room for mountain bikes and dogs.

Nice looking plane, reasonable price(if the rest is as good as the pics), looks like a Horton stol kit.

Yeah, doesn't look like sportsman. Had the Horton on the 182.

Looks like a Horton on the 180 as well. Looks nice, attractive price. Not sure why he has it priced 5k higher on the bushwheels, perhaps he want's to keep them.

Lamar is a pretty small area, maybe someone at Pueblo could help with the pre-buy?

Also, I'm not sure how keen I would be at the idea of teaching in a 180, it's an intimidating plane and the abuse from students could be costly.

It's a few years out before teaching, I just meant to build the experience.
