Seems like a lot of effort just for a coffee cup. I just put my drinks (hot or cold) into a vacuum thermos with a quick drink lid. I can toss those in the plane without much though when the drinking straw is folded over without spilling anything. Then my drink stays hot (or cold) until I'm ready for it. Drinking is a one handed operation to fold the drinking straw up and sip away.
