BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

I had to look this word up, as I've always been under the impression it meant sour, or distasteful. Turns out it's the opposite. I think maybe I was confusing it with Bukowski.

As in Charles Bukowski? I remember reading a short story he wrote in the first person about he and another man raping a woman, and I thought, man...that's not made up...I think he really did that. South of no North was the book, if I recall correctly. A deeply disturbed human being.

The Barfly was a great movie, though.

I've been slaving away on annuals. And working on my cub at night. Image

I may do a little flying. Nothing fun. Just moving airplanes around.

Re: BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

Well it's been -20C and colder for the last week and a bit, plus the wind. -39C with the wind here tonight. That and the fact that a moose wrecked my rudder. School also has been keeping me very busy. Add to all that that I sold my 180 and it's pretty much a recipe for disaster! So I've just been enjoying reading.

Re: BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

I vote to bring back the "where did u fly today" thread, or start a new one. Seems a lot more pilots were comfortable dropping a random pic instead of starting an exclusive thread.

Been an awesome year of flyin in 2016. If I was willing to share all the fishing holes would post more, Ha! This fall was a highlight, got to fly with a lot of really great pilots, made new friends, and had some truly epic experiences. Along the way, stopped at a Gold Mine, good ol' Captain Hard Times filmed it...

Facebook is the devil and sure to overtake money as the leading cause for divorce in our country.

I recently started using instagram for my daily airplane porn and realy enjoy that for the quick fix. I religiously check BCP multiple times a day in hopes of a new thread or trip report. I wish people were sharing more builds and mods in the forums. Hats off to crazyivan and bigrenna, i live vicariously through their adventures!

I love BCP and it has its place. The people here have created a brotherhood of sorts. I sure as would never wear an instagram shirt, but I've worn out 3 BCP hats!

It was just a suggestion to gain better posterity and linearity for users. You can certainly post to WDYFT if you like.

It has rained 6 inches the last few days and the airstrip is a mud pit. Wife gets mad if I bring the Maule back muddy... 8)

Re: BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

This year has been my all time low for flight time. We have been so busy in the shop and working around the airport. We are now in the process of buying 10 more acres with a nice brick rancher on it that has 250' of frontage to my runway. If the deal goes through we will spend a few months updating the house and moving in. It will give us room for 50 or more aircraft to park when we have fly ins. Hopefully we will be settled in and ready to play a lot harder next summer.

I may rent the existing house out when we move into the new one. If anyone wants to live with their airplane in South Central PA on a nicely groomed 2800' private runway, PM me.

Everytime I see the title of this thread I think BCP has been hijacked.

Re: BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

Through years of exhaustive research and travels I have found putting emotional effort into imaginary friends is less healthy than enjoying time with actual real-world family and friends.

But the beat goes on. I came within a millimeter of buying a Navion earlier this week. They are freakin cool.

In other news, Paco and I made this OBP cult classic that failed in the box office, but we are sure it will payout long-term:

Re: BCP- 7500 Users and No One Flying?

I've been assuming those in the cold would find my current circumstance to be annoying. But, since you asked. Here's the path I took earlier this week and a photo of the beach I'm telecommuting from. The last 90 minutes of the flight was along mostly undeveloped beach at sunset. Amazingly beautiful.

Now THAT is an excellent photo!
Surely worthy of being included in the supercub.org calendar
(if it's not traitorous to bring that up here)
or any other calendar for that matter.
