Welcome Matt! I am an A&P too working part time in Honolulu. Customers are the CAP and other "various" government agencies. Also building flight time on floats and skis in Oregon.

You'll all be pleased to know "Larry the lurker" is alive and well. Spoke with him for a while in Valdez tonight. Unfortunately he's too busy burning avgas at the moment to fully commit.

Great post!!

I try to say something about how I feel about others' posts so I don't fall into lurker status.

Sometimes it's silly and short and sounds a little broken record (since everyone posts cool stuff, I find myself typing "Awesome!" a lot, lol).

Buuut, that's all it takes to not lurk if you don't have anything worth starting a thread over going on just yet!

Been lurkin for a while. Some of the resent Cessna builds with photos have been pretty cool to see... Hurt my mechanic bone seeing the rough sheet metal work on that ramp mummie 180 eeek!
Anyways im Matt. Work at Merrill full time mechanic-in on these flying machines. Hope to be at the Valdez fly in tomorrow with the family and my green for sale super cub. Cant decide on a 180 or an M7.

That "rough" sheet metal work hurt more than my bone... Gonna take more than viagra to fix that stab. Thats a toss up, but I bet the maule parts are a lot cheaper than the 180 parts! However, I don't think a maule can hold a candle to the sexy lines of a 180, Cessna just got it right when they drew that one up!

Larry does have it right.. The only time I post much is when I am at work, my time at home is spent flying camping or fishing, not ataring at a computer screen.

My name is Franck, and I am a lurker.

I've posted a few times, but mostly I feel I don't have much experience to contribute. I enjoy learning and reading all the cool stories you guys have to share.

Last summer I passed my PPL and bought a Bushcaddy R80 on floats. The only flight I've done with it was to bring it home (me in the right seat). I still got a few more things to do to it, and hopefully get my float rating and start my flying adventures this summer!

It's good to know there's always a wealth of resource at my finger tips.

Only picture I have. I'm sure ill become more camera happy when I start flying. Not to worry, those tie downs were swapped for screw anchors quickly.

I am Mark. I am a new AME who has lurked here for awhile, mostly because I didn't feel like I had much to contribute to the conversation since I live in the land of paved runways in lower Michigan.

I have been out of aviation for about seven years but this last year, I had the opportunity to become an AME which has sparked the love for aviation in me again. I joined a flying club and just recently put a contract in on this plane:

it's currently in annual, and will need an overhaul on the engine...I am very excited.

I love the planes you guys fly and the settings you fly them in...this is a great site, I visit daily.

I go back and forth between lurking and contributing. For the last year I have been work for CubCrafters, Friday is my last day and I will go back to fixing things from my hangar in Chelan. Hands on A&P work suits me better than desk work.

Welcome Mark. David...your hangar in Chelan is a pretty nice situation...interesting dilemma. Glad you have good options to choose from. Maybe I will manage another visit someday.
