The footage and photos are very nearly in sequence from a trip that started on May 1st and lasted until May 9th.

Gunny wrote:Very nice! Need a trip report to go along with it! Some very cool looking places! My only suggestion would be to put your labels in white... sometimes it was hard for me to read the names, titles in black.

Looking forward for more!

I will work on a trip report. I edited the labels to make them more readable.

Let's make some plans Scott! I know of several folks who would likely rally.

Very nicely done! However, there is a downside: Now I have to clean up the drool on my computer keyboard.

High tide at Nootka Island, but with your ABW who cares.

I would like to head north again in September or October.

Perhaps I will reach out to Robin and we can organize a little work party?

Holy crap - this was your FIRST VIDEO try?? =D> =D> =D>

The bar just keeps getting higher here... hehehe

Nicely done! I liked the music selections, too - and, as others here have noted, the edits of flying and ground activities, along with a mix of First Person View and set cameras really added to the overall feel and quality! I hope I can do something half this well the first time I get something together!

Great stuff! You captured some amazing images, and did a beautiful job of putting them together.

What an amazing trip that must have been. Thanks for putting that together so the rest of us could share in the stoke!!!

Scolopax, when you decide to come up this way let us know. This is home base for Karmutzen,CBFraser,175 magnum and many more guys with the same likes. Maybe BBQ a fresh caught salmon or trout over an open fire on a Fraser River Gravel Bar.

I was smart enough not to lean over the keyboard!

Outstanding job, hard to believe that was your first video editing effort. Excellent and fun to watch! Like others, I rarely watch beginning to end of the longer videos here (or elsewhere), but this one was worth watching. It definitely kept my interest.

Re: Pacific Northwest Adventuring

Being a first release I have concluded some people here are gifted with talent. Interesting the contrast of videos available to the public these days, I fully believe there is more talent on this site than most of the "stuff" on Netflix or other "canned" commercial media.

So far the best flying is being published on backcountrypilot.org (opinion). Hope it continues.

(BTW I struggle to make videos and/or photographs, that are beyond the home movie 8MM era :x )

Re: Pacific Northwest Adventuring

Thanks for the positive feedback on the video guys! The sights that we get to see and the places that we get to visit as low flying pilots cruising the wilderness is a privilege that is within reach to many, but discovered by very few. I have had a lot of fun with this video and always enjoy experiencing your stories of winged adventure told through your Trip Reports, photos and videos here as well.

This was the first time that I have hung a Gopro from my plane. What a fun little toy that is great for capturing scenes in high definition.

The awesome weather and unbelievable scenery that we encountered along the way gave me a big advantage going in to the edit. I had those two songs in mind for a while for setting a flying video, as they are playful without being too distracting and have lots of movement.

Windows Movie Maker is a really user friendly editing tool for understanding the basics, but it seems that one could quickly outgrow it when it comes to touching up scenes and adding really neat tricks in.

175 Mag,

I am going to make a strong effort to visit your area again in mid September. If it works out, I'd love to connect.

BBQ fresh Salmon on a Fraser River gravel bar sounds as excellent as anything that I can possibly imagine!
