Re: Project: Cessna 170B

My seats are done! I had Ron Matta from Aviation Creations do my seats. I used the same style as Greg did on his project but changed the colors. I also added perforated leather to the center sections of all the seats. The front seat frames were powder coated gray to match the Atlee Dodge folding jump seats.

Re: Project: Cessna 170B

How well do the seats fold up, can you leave the cushions in place or do you have to remove the seat bottoms

Re: Project: Cessna 170B

The backs slide off and the bottoms Velcro on. It takes 2 seconds to take the cushions off to fold it up super flat.

Re: Project: Cessna 170B

I finally got the floor cut out and installed tonight. Now basically all I have left before I start flying it is the annual and W&B.

Re: Project: Cessna 170B

What's the floor mat material? Do you get any interference with the seats with the mat up against the forward seat rails like that?

Looks like you could play Legos on it.

Re: Project: Cessna 170B

It's Aerofloor DOT from AIP Source: http://www.aipsource.com/aerofloor.html ... rofloordot it is very thin and there's no interference with the seat and seat rails.

Re: Project: Cessna 170B

Well I got the annual done today! Unfortunately I still have to wait to do the W&B, need to borrow some scales. Hopefully I'll do that on Wednesday. It seems like tradition with these project threads to have a contest to guess the empty weight, this one will be no different. So, what do you think it will weigh in at? The winner wins a FREE beer at a future fly-in  Before I started this project I had a calculated empty weight of 1398 on 26" bushwheels and the rear bench seat in. For this weight and balance I'll be on 8.00x6 tires. I'm hoping to be well below the 1300lb mark on 8.00s.

Wow, Rob! You are never going to want to taxi back in once you get airborne again!

Congrats,

This is a little off subject but this is Michael's 120 project so Robby do you want him to send you the check for that material first before you ship it.
Also we need to ship the parts for the side panels too Harley.
