Couple of tips for keeping your canine copilot happy:
-Let them out to stretch their legs often;
-Make sure they have plenty of fresh water available!

Perfect weather and work schedule finally came together to enable a trip over to HSF in the Champ this year. Had an absolute blast, the desert is like Disneyland in a 7AC!

Carly here is a big Champ fan, as you can see by her shirt. Had a great time visiting with her and her proud dad. She is already saving up for her own Champ, and was presented with her very own 100 Horse Air Force hat.

One red wingtip, one plain wingtip.
Is there a story there?

I almost expected to see a green RH wingtip-- nav light colors.

Re: The Adventures of CFOT and Pokey Joe

Yep, that's the famous Redtip 140. All kinds of great stories and speculation about its origin. The airplane has quite a history, and spent a good portion of its life in Alaska. The red tip is easy to identify in the air and differentiate from other airplanes, and has great significance as an iconic symbol of many heroic missions being the original squadron markings of the 100 Horse Air Force....but all BS aside, I think that red paint was the only paint in the hangar when the wingtip was repaired many years ago.

Dropped into Gravelly on the Fourth. Lake is pretty full, strip is a little tore up. We walked it and pitched rocks and cleaned up the trash.

Gravelly is nice, flew in and camped there a few times a while back. Lots of elk each time, had to shoo some cows off the runway prior to take off.
Thanks for looking after the strip.
