Re: The Adventures of CFOT and Pokey Joe

It was great to meet you guys too.

Really great HSF, so many cool planes and friendly people. And crazy characters. If 10% of the stories I heard were remotely true some of these people have led amazing lives.

Flew out to the coast for the crab opener a few days ago. Couldn't have been nicer!

Thank you alum04org!

Hope everyone is staying safe and well during this challenging time. Things have been a bit stressful around here, but luckily our local tower remains unaffected by the Corona outbreak…

And the tower controller remains unwavering in his duties..

Work has been difficult, but the airplane has proven useful for overseeing projects, like this foundation excavation. Great way to oversee things while avoiding contact with others.

We've been hearing reports that air traffic has been pretty slow all around the country. No exception here…well except for the Mooney. The others are pretty slow though…

CFOT,

I just love the fact that you are obviously having such a great time with that Champ. All of your pictures and videos show the joys of low and slow flying, and makes me very much want to join in the fun... There are plenty of days when your pictures / videos are the highlight of my day. Those high-HP, highly modified STOL ships are cool, and their videos are fun to watch, but I rarely find myself thinking "Man, I'd love to have one of those!" Your Champ, on the other hand...

This latest video is a real tutorial on the use of ground effect for takeoff. ContactFlying would be proud!

PS - Pokey Joe is pretty cool, as well. He might even be the star of the series!

I have to agree, a lot of fun to be had in Champs, T carts and 140s. Go all the same places and enjoy it for twice as long - just kidding:)

Glad you are out having fun.

Can't complain about twice as long, it's the journey.

Re: The Adventures of CFOT and Pokey Joe

That looks like so much fun! Love the picture of Pokey Joe and the deer. I've got a mutt hound dog that blew out a knee playing with a deer, running back and forth along our fence line. Don't know who was having more fun, her or the deer...
