Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Never fished the "Crooked River" but, sounds good to me.

Anybody who is anybody has climbed there, along with a butt-load of nobodies, myself included. I know I like so many others blamed Smith for my tendonitis in the 90's - but I so enjoyed watching the best in the world pulling down.

I always heard the crooked river was a tad polluted. Is that true? That water always looks nasty to me - I don't think I'd eat any fish from it.

We flew to Healdsburg today and rode our folding bikes the 4.6 miles into town to the Bear Republic Brewery for a tasty lunch, and picked up some beer for later!

Growler of Apex IPA and a 22oz Big Bear Stout, both very tasty!

Couple of new spots on the river.
I have been wondering where the edge is when using water for landing. I got slow short of the beach and had water spraying over the windshield, didn't feel good!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flying M Ranch, Oregon, Sunday breakfast only. 8-9 a.m. The MMV Boys were MIA, either sleeping in or playing on the river? We still had 13 planes! Rumor has it, one of the SuperCubs that showed up there has nitrous oxide-power booster. Seen 20+ elk on short final. She makes an excellent breakfast. It is worth getting up early for!

Short final. About 20+ elk. Glad they weren't on the runway :!:

Today was a beautiful day in Eastern NC. Started a new student on tailwheel instruction in his Kit Fox. I will have to take some pics. Hope to have a new back country pilot soon.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Took my wife and a another couple to Shelter Cove yesterday. If you were in the PNW yesterday and didn't fly you should have your ticket yanked. 70 degrees and light wind in Northern California/Oregon Coast.

Wow. Must be nice wearing a T shirt in March. I'm surprised everybody doesn't pull up stakes and move to California!

I second Iceman.
It was a little chilly, but I knew I'd be having the nervous sweats, so I peeled the jacket before going out.
The T-shirt got it's attention later.

Re: Where did you fly today?

A trip to Joseph Oregon Sunday for new shoes on the Bearhawk. Wup met us in Hells Canyon and latter gave us a tour of Lower Hells before flying escort to Joesph. It was a quick 2-day trip but what a great time. It was really great to finally see how ABW's are made, pretty cool!

Conrats on your solo at Lake Hughes. Nice looking Stinson. I see it is paved now, last time I was there, it was dirt.
