Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Nice TR!

Pretty certain thats Pollen in the water. Tahoe and the surrounding lakes have it now. Each morning it looks like it has snowed here with all the pollen on the cars.

Is that decathlon yours now? Nice!

I thought that spinner assembly looked a little big for a Pacer so I looked up the registration online. Aha! an O-360 conversion. Looks great. FYI the database shows "none" under certificate issue date & expiration date, as well as "sale reported" under owner, so either the database is slow to update or something might need straightening out.
I remeber Zane posting about some sort of ultralight get-togethers at Powers and thought it sounded like a pretty cool place to go. Judging from the pic you posted I was right, but I haven't been down that way yet to check it out for myself.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Powers is a really nice spot. Pretty easy access to the Coquille River and a really nice swimming hole, too!

Also great place to throw rocks in the water:

Sorry for the slight thread-drift. Back to work now! :D

Powers is looking better & better. Nothing like throwing rocks in the river. Daybreak is my favorite place for that.

Thanks AKT. That makes sense about the pollen. It's probably a little early for the algae too? And yes, the Citabria (7GCAA) is now a part of the partnership I'm in along with a '55 180 :D . I just put 2 more hours on it this morning!

It looks like San Luis Reservoir to me.

That sounds right Rob. There are a lot of bodies of water around there. I can't keep track of them or remember their names when they pop up on the GPS. I guess I could look on the chart :?

I keep telling myself that one of these days on a trip south I'm going to contact you Northern California guys so we can do some flying but it hasn't happened yet! Maybe I just need to make a special trip down??

Here's a pic of my flight this morning. Man I'm going bald

Made it out to Kingsley's and back w/o crashing. Two pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans (guaranteed to be Allen Packing, one of their customers,) coffee, and pecan pie for $7.50. We Hillbillies have never actually been to Beverly Hills.
Kiman says they will be on the next printing of Kansas City sectional.

Hotrod - I am calling the FAA as we speak (this should be fun)

Choss - Walk abut a mile to town?

Everyone - We should get a weekend picked for a camp out Southern Oregon style. Powers, Tokeete, Lucas?

Re: Where did you fly today?

Powers in mid-June is just right. It's still a little green, temps are coming up for swimming but the river isn't too low. It would be a good place to group camp because there's so much room, and it's a gigantic strip. June 15-16?

I think we must've crossed paths that day! I was coming from Los Banos and flew over Hollister enroute to king city.

So....San Luis Reservoir? Pretty golden dry. Mid may we'd like to see a little green around the edges there. Great Striper fishing.

Looks like you have a typical co-pilot, sitting there wondering when he is going to get to make a landing.

Sounds like a great idea, then we can all fly over to Agness for a fried chicken dinner at Lucas Lodge! I do think a camp out at Tokatee would be cool sometime as well... there is not a ton to do there, but shoot guns or fish/swim, the camping though is about at prime as it gets!

Ha! That's too funny Bart! I'm going to have to get on Center for not alerting me to your presence, it looks like we would've been pretty close to each other  . I like your picture better by the way.

EB, sounds like next time we need to get ahold of you and do some fishing! :D

If he would have quit shaking I probably would have let him land one! I'm not sure if he was excited or nervous but he tolerated two hours in the plane this morning without a peep! And only a small amount of drool.

if you have a current FAA registration & airworthiness certificate and they're correct, you're OK. You can't always take the database info as gospel. My airplane was listed as having a restricted airworthiness certificate (aerial advertising) and an O-200 when I bought it. A new airworthiness certificate had to be acquired because the seller couldn't locate it. (the airpane was rebuilt from a wreck so not too surprising). Now the database shows the Lycoming 320 installation but still says restricted airworthiness. Oh well-- the paperwork n hand is correct & that's what matters.

I didn't fly, but my wife and I picked up M7Flyer at Grants Pass and grabbed a quick bite to eat before David heads back to SoCal.
