Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finally returned from a 5 month deployment, and decided to get back in the air today. Nothing exciting to report, just a few laps around the pattern to get back in the the swing of things. The 140 flew beautifully! (battery was dead, got stuck hand propping her, but beggars cant be choosy) The airport is the former Naval Air Station Barbers Point (PHJR) .

Re: Where did you fly today?

Was headed up to Park Rapids Zorbaz ski-plane deal, but a friend called and said, hey, we are teaching a covering class using Frank's Cub wings, where are you? So hit brakes and scoot over to shop to play with fabric... 8)

BRD- Great stuff, as always. Do you happen to have any aerials of the pond hockey championships, by chance?
Thanks,

Took the Pacer into Chukar Flat with my daughter yesterday morning. The break in the storms turned out a great flying day!

As you can see, my copilot was not impressed with my flying enough to stay awake!

Re: Where did you fly today?

I would’ve guessed Chukar Flat would have been too muddy with all the precipitation lately. Not bad?

No mud at all. It was above freezing so the ground wasn't just frozen. There was a light dusting of snow at the top of the canyon, but riverside it was firm, dry, and in great shape.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Did you buy that Pacer from someone at Harvey Field several years ago.
Or was that the previous owner?
Either way, I remember checking it out when it lived there and I liked the looks of it.
160hp as I recall.
And that cool teal color.

@hotrod180

How long ago did you take a look? I bought it from a guy in Scappoose a year and a half ago. If it was up in Snohomish, it was several years ago. It does have the 160hp O-320. It’s a fun, simple old bird, it’s has been teaching me a lot about using my feet.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Its been a number of years since it was kept in one of the open hangars at S43. I just remembered an Oregon guy had bought it, I think he used to post on fhe PNW Flying site.

Checked out the cabin, north of Sioux Lookout, Ontario. 3' of snow in the bush still, and 2' of ice.
